Investment Properties - Sector Dialog

This dialog is available by right mouse clicking on any investment in the Portfolio Editor, and choosing Properties... from the popup menu. It is also available by right mouse clicking on any investment in the Graph or a Report window, and choosing Investment Properties... from the popup menu.

This property page allows you to edit the sector allocation for this investment. An investment can be allocated among each of the 100 available sector categories. The labels used for each of the sector categories is adjustable by choosing the "Edit Labels..." button, or with the Category Labels Dialog.

Sector assignments can be automatically retrieved from the internet. To prevent the sector retrieval from updating this investment, turn on "Do Not Update When Retrieving Sectors".

Select a sector category, and then choose the "Change %..." button to specify the percentage of this investment that belongs to that sector. To quickly assign a particular sector to 100% and all other sectors to 0%, double click on the desired 100% sector. You can also right mouse click on a sector to assign it 100% or set a specific percentage. The sector allocations can also be imported from a file.

The total allocation for all sector categories is shown, and this must equal 100%.

The sector allocations for all your investments are summarized in the Sector Allocation report as well as the Sector - Pie, and Sector - Stacked Value graphs. Most reports can also sub-total or list by sector.
