Investment Properties - Asset Type Dialog

This dialog is available by right mouse clicking on any investment in the Portfolio Editor, and choosing Properties... from the popup menu. It is also available by right mouse clicking on any investment in the Graph or a Report window, and choosing Investment Properties... from the popup menu.

This property page allows you to edit the asset type allocation for this investment. An investment can be allocated among each of the 100 available asset type categories. The labels used for each of the asset type categories is adjustable by choosing the "Edit Labels..." button, or with the Category Labels Dialog.

Asset type assignments can be automatically retrieved from the internet. To prevent the asset type retrieval from updating this investment, turn on "Do Not Update When Retrieving Asset Types".

Select an asset type category, and then choose the "Change %..." button to specify the percentage of this investment that belongs to that asset type. To quickly assign a particular asset type to 100% and all other asset types to 0%, double click on the desired 100% asset type. You can also right mouse click on an asset type to assign it 100% or set a specific percentage. The asset type allocations can also be imported from a file, which makes bulk editing much easier.

The total allocation for all asset type categories is shown, and this must equal 100%.

The asset type allocations for all your investments are summarized in the Asset Allocation, report as well as the Asset Allocation - Pie and Asset Type - Stacked Value graphs. Most reports can also sub-total or list by asset type.
