QIF import doesn't recognize CvrShrt transactions

Exported QIF file from Quicken Deluxe 2005 for one of my accounts, and imported with Fund Manager Personal v7.7. It seems none of the short cover transactions were recognized. I don't even see it in the transaction selection dialog window when I narrow the date range to when I know the transaction took place. Quicken codes it as

^
D1/27' 6
NCvrShrt
YBOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP
I21.75
Q100
Cc
U2,176.00
T2,176.00
O1.00

in the QIF file. It seems when I replace CvrShrt with Buy, FM can see it during import.

I have no problem with this as a workaround, but is there any difference between a buy and a cover short transaction in FM in terms of tax treatment and lot treatment?

A related question, is there a way to generated a capital gains report for just a single security?

Thanks,
Bob
