Unfound Portfolio Files

When I attempt to click on an icon to open a portfolio I created earlier, I receive the message:

The Investment File
c:\ProgramFiles\FundManger\Autoback\KAR.dat

specified in the program could not be found

click cancel to not be notified about additional missing investments.

Then a screen appears that asks:

Would you like to remove from the portfolio the investments that could not be opened?

--I have no idea how to deal with this. For starters, I DID NOT MOVE ANY FILES. I merely saved the portfolio prior to exiting the program. Also, a portfolio icon is readily seen when I open the File menu and the program appears to go through its rigamarole with about 20 or so frames that quickly flash through numerous screens containing portfolio performance data, for the saved portfolio, prior to the above notice.
