: Mark: I had an unfortunate encounter with a virus which required me to restore the computer back to the factory load condition. Subsequently, I reloaded Fund Manager and tried to use backup diskettes to refill a bare bones Fund Manager installation to get back up to speed again.

: I ran into two problems. First, the portfolio names and descriptions are not stored in the backup diskettes to reestablish the portfolios and therefore it remains quite a chore to achieve a preliminary condition where a backup diskette can be effectively used. Second, after the backup is achieved, there is a short period of dates following the backup date to the current date for which quotes are missing. How do I fill in these gaps in the quotes?

Hi Chuck,
The backup feature doesn't back up portfolio files, just your investment
files... This is something we should add. You can back up these files
yourself though if you'd like, by just copying them to a backup location.

Regarding getting missing prices, you may be able to get them from one
of the historical quote servers, like "Yahoo (Historical)".

Thanks,
Mark
