: Have just downloaded Fund Manager and in "playing" with it am, I know in the learning curve, but have following questions (so far):
: 1)In posting dividends that are reinvested (via DRIP's) I note that the cost/basis of the shares so acquired are not reflected in the report's as "Invested". How does one account for the cost/basis of those shares?
: 2) Am I correct in assumption that cash account transactions (be they receipts or disbursements) are not handled as a consequence of buy, sell, distribution and other correlative transactions?
: Your prompt E-mail response is appreciated.

Hi David,

1) The "Invested" column in the portfolio performance report is just
showing the money flow in/out of the portfolio. The capital gains reports
will properly account for the cost of acquiring the reinvested shares
when you sell them.

2) This is an option, you can control. See "Options/Preferences.../Other"
to assign a "default cash account". If this is assigned all your
monies from transactions will go into/out of this default cash account.

Thanks,
Mark
