Cost/basis tracking - reinvested dividends

Have just downloaded Fund Manager and in "playing" with it am, I know in the learning curve, but have following questions (so far):
1)In posting dividends that are reinvested (via DRIP's) I note that the cost/basis of the shares so acquired are not reflected in the report's as "Invested". How does one account for the cost/basis of those shares?
2) Am I correct in assumption that cash account transactions (be they receipts or disbursements) are not handled as a consequence of buy, sell, distribution and other correlative transactions?
