Hi Simon,
This appears to be caused by one of the bugs we fixed in FM 4.7 Beta.
One quick test would be to turn off your statusbar under "View/Statusbar".
This should eliminate the problem even in version 4.6.

Please download FM 4.7 Beta and install it right over your existing 4.6.
You can download 4.7 from:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/beta.html

In version 4.7 this is fixed, so you can leave the statusbar on in 4.7.

Please let us know if this does not solve the problem.
