: : : : : Hi, I'm not very experienced with either computers or Fund Manager, but have managed to use both. But now it's the first time that I can not save new investments in my Fund Manager 4.6.218. Every time I try to save, up comes this message:

: : : : : This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists...

: : : : : Details: FM caused an exception 10H in module FM.EXE at 0137:0042a5b6

: : : : : Registers:...

: : : : : What to do

: : : : Hi Simon,
: : : : This appears to be caused by one of the bugs we fixed in FM 4.7 Beta.
: : : : One quick test would be to turn off your statusbar under "View/Statusbar".
: : : : This should eliminate the problem even in version 4.6.

: : : : Please download FM 4.7 Beta and install it right over your existing 4.6.
: : : : You can download 4.7 from:

: : : : http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/beta.html

: : : : In version 4.7 this is fixed, so you can leave the statusbar on in 4.7.

: : : : Please let us know if this does not solve the problem.

: : : : Thanks,
: : : : Mark

: : : I tried only once with 4.7 beta version, which didn't fix the problem. But turning off the status bar did. Thanks for the help.

: :
: : Thanks for the information. Can you tell me exactly when it crashes?
: : Is it as the "Save Investment As" dialog comes up, or is it when you
: : dismiss this dialog by clicking on the "Save" button? Which graph type
: : do you have selected? Do you have any other investments open already when
: : trying to create this new investment?

: : Thanks,

: As I can't recall exactily how I did, so I just tried to save a non-existing investment with no open investment. It's when I tried to save in the "Save Investment As" dialog box a (something new is happening... the problem didn't occur just as I tried a second and a third time to see what kind of graph I got afterwards)graph, of investment value, I guess, without any investment title, appeared. But now it seems solved. Anyway, it's for your information.

Thanks for the information Simon, this should help track this down. Once
we do, we will release a new 4.7 Beta. I will send you an e-mail once it
is ready, so hopefully you can test this out on your computer.

Thanks,
Mark
