Stock merged= how is this handled?? Help= anyone!

I owned 95 shares of EXCITE which merged with ATHM. For my 95 shares of EXCITE, they were exchanged to 98 shares of ATHM. What's the best way to handle this. I want to maintain good records for tax preporation capital gains/losses!!
