: : I want to look and see what would have happened to my investments if I had sold or bought additional shares at some point in the past. How can I do this without messing up my "real" data?

: : I realize that I can input my "fake" data and then go back and remove it after I'm done playing with it, but is there another way to do this without having to remember which "fake" data I have to remove?

: : Thanks.

: There's an easy way to do this. Copy your "my_data" to another directory or to a floppy. Play with your hypothetical transactions, then after you're finished playing, copy your original "my_data" file back.

Thanks for the advice, but I am hesitant to copy files back and forth...too much risk of making an error. Is it possible to create a new portfolio called "fake data" which contains the same investments as my "real" portfolio? This way I can play with the "fake" data all I want without screwing up my real data. Will this work, and how do I do it?

Thanks.
