: I am not real sophisticated, and this is probably "Stupid Question #5210". I need to know how to completely delete an investment from Fund Manager.

: One of my investments had a change in name, and in order to read and enter the data from a quarterly report, I need the new name in the Fund Manager system, and I need to completely delete the old name. I renamed it, but it still shows up in the Open Investment file under the old name. When I open it, it comes up with the new name. Eventually I will forget what name it is under.

: Thanks,

Hi Norm,

It is not necessary to delete the investment in this case, but if you
want to delete it, you can just delete the *.dat investment file using
Windows Explorer or whatever else you use to normally delete files.

The investment name and the filename for the investment are separate.
You can change the investment name/symbol under "Investment Properties".
This does not change the filename though, which you can also
see under "Investment Properties/Statistics". If you wish to save the
investment under a different filename, you can use "File/Save Investment As..."
and assign it a new filename.

If your investment just changed name, you can just change the name, and
you should be all set. If you want, you can also save it to a new filename
if you have a particular naming convention you want to keep consistent.

Thanks,
Mark
