: : Why does the Beg Value in my Portfolio Reports mostly/usually show zero?(no matter whether Earliest todate, or Year to date, or..).

: Hi Harry,

: The "Beginning Value" is the value as of the morning of the starting report date. This means it is the same as the close on the day prior to the report start date. If you made your first purchase on the beginning report date, this amount would not be reflected in the beginning value. Let me know if that doesn't help explain the problem.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Well, that's kind of circular reasoning, without describing what the "same" is. I think it means the value of each investment as of the SRD. If the investment was sold before SRD, it appears as zero. If it was bought after the SRD, it also appears as zero. Is that correct? The FM has amazing capabilities but I seem to sometimes need the basics clarified. Thank you. Harry
