: : : Hi Mark:
: : : A few months ago (1/20/2006), one fund in my portfolio, Nuveen CLR (NCSPX), stopped updating. I'm normally using Yahoo for updates. I've tried using Yahoo Historical by resetting the default quote server and setting the dates to reach from 1/20/2006 to the current date but this one fund does not update.

: : : Either I'm not using the historical price retrival correctly to get the prices for this one fund investment or something is odd about the price records for this fund investment (NCSPX).

: : : Suggestions would be warmly received!!!!

: : Hello Chuck,

: : The first step is to go to Yahoo and make sure this quote is still available there. I did that, and it is, so this shouldn't be the problem. I created a test investment with this symbol and was able to retrieve both the current quote from the Yahoo server and historical quotes from Yahoo (Historical).

: : How are you verifying that the quote is not updating? Please use the Data Register by selecting "Edit / All Data..." and setting it on the "Prices" data type.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Hi:

: <: How are you verifying that the quote is not updating? : This was how I verified that the graphs were not tracking the actual investment prices but couldn't see why: and, couldn't get changing the Default Server to Yahoo historical to update the "Prices" data. This problem apparently started after I did an upgrade of Fund Manager. I had some problems with that upgrade due to my ISP and DSL source that required me to repeat the upgrade installation.

: After your reply, I did a careful examination of each of the investments in this small portfolio under
: Investment Properties/Internet Retrieve/. I found that all investments in the portfolio were set to except for NCSPX which somehow was left blank --- I do not know how this was accomplished since there seems to always be a mandatory choice here.

: Anyway, putting either Yahoo historical here and getting quotes for only this fund; or, putting here and changing the Default Server to Yahoo historical does the job I want; however, the second way downloads a lot of unnecessary quotes for the other files in this small portfolio.

: Your reply led me to the problem and many thanks.

: Best regards,

Mark:
All of the investments in the portfolio were set to "Default Server". For some reason this will not appear in the reply if Default Server is enclosed in the greater than/less than brackets instead of quote marks.

This happened at two places in the above reply:
...were set to (missing "Default Server" ) except...
and:
...fund; or, putting (missing "Default Server" ) here

In both cases above, the Default Server was enclosed in greater than/less than marks not quote marks.
