default cash account

Mark I am having troubble with the default cash management account. When I have more than one transaction on one day, particually when I have bought stock,the account shows a negative balance and then when I transfer money from my second cash account into my default cash account the balance does not change.
If I do this on the next day it all works well but If I do this transaction on the same day the default cash account will not recalculate the balance. The transactions are being recorded but the balance just does not recalculate.
