: Hi Mark ;
: If I want to get the history file for 1 Co split adjusted with out getting my whole master portfolio updated I want to go back to 1996, can I get a dividend history to?
: How would I do this. with pre 7x I had a price update portfolio that just updated the price update portfolio . That portfolio no longer works.

Hi Lawrence,

In versions 7.x you would just right mouse click on that investment and choose "Retrieve Selected Price". In pre-7.x you must have only that investment open when you do a price retrieve. In pre-7.x versions all open investments are updated when you do a price retrieve. Just close any open portfolio/investments, and then do a "File / Open Investment(s)..." to open only the one you want to update.

In the Professional versions the distribution history can be retrieved, but only when using the Yahoo-Historical quote server. If you're using the Yahoo Adjusted Historical the prices are adjusted for both distributions and splits, so you wouldn't want to also record distributions, as that would be double counting.

Thanks,
Mark
