: : Hi Mark,

: : I've been a Fund Manager user 4.x for many years and thought I'd try out your new 7.5 (368,112) version and so far many new additions that I really like.

: : I am having trouble using the transaction retrieve feature effectively. For my T Rowe Price mutual fund accounts of which I have several, I access them all using one user ID and password. When using the transaction retrieve feature it prompts me for the USER ID and Password and Account number. If I perform this for each of my fund accounts it works fine. Is there a way for me to retrieve all my various account transactions for this one portfolio without requesting it one by one?

: : Happy New Year,

: Hi JC,

: To retrieve all your accounts at once, you would want to create a sub-portfolio for each account. Assign the appropriate account number to each sub-portfolio. Then, when you retrieve transactions, retrieve for the top portfolio, and check the option to retrieve sub-portfolios. You can retrieve all accounts at once.

: To set up different sub-portfolios, make use of the Portfolio Editor. For some tips on using the Portfolio Editor, check out:

Thanks Mark for the quick reply,
Your pointer to the tutorial page on portfolios is almost exactly how I have my accounts setup. For me each mutual fund = investment= one account number, even though the account numbers for each fund have all digits the same except the last 2. I tried just entering the common digits as my account number in the tranaction retrieve settings but it just prompts me with an error and then lists of all my account numbers to choose from, which then includes the additional 2 digits.

I think I could easily set this up where each mutual fund is a sub portfolio as you suggested but since each mutual fund (investment) also has an account number in the property description, I was wondering if this account number can be used and if not how is this field used in fund manager?

thanks
jc
