: Hi,
: I am trasfering all my positions from one account to another with the same broker. I assume that in FM this is as easy as dragging and dropping the securities from the first account to the second one (am I right?).

: But what about the case where a security is present on both accounts? How can I merge their transaction history so that there is just one symbol with the combined transactions?

: Thanks,

Hi Luca,

Yes, you can just use the Portfolio Editor to drag/drop your investments from one sub-portfolio to the other one. It sounds like your destination sub-portfolio already existed, but if it didn't, you could also just edit the account number/name of the existing sub-portfolio, if the whole account was being transferred.

There is no "merge investments" feature. You would end up with 2 investments holding the same security in the case you've described. A feature to copy/paste transactions between investments is something planned for a future version.

Thanks,
Mark
