: Mark, appreciate your patience.
: Have followed your instructions as well as the options as marked, really they are not that complicated, it seems to me there is something just outside normal.
: Let me ask you this:
: I could manually turn off each security/investment not active by right click "close", that will remove the selected issue, now, if in the future I want to buy into, how do I bring it back? by going to view and again toggle the hide option?
: David

Hi David,

"Closing" an investment is different than "Hiding". When you hide an investment, it is still open, and included in your overall sub-portfolio totals. The display of the hidden investments is controlled with "View / Hidden Investments/Portfolios".

When you close an investment, it is completely closed, and not factored into any calculations. Usually you would just want to hide your sold investments, so that you have an accurate history of your portfolio's performance.

If you do close an investment, you would have to use "File / Open Investment(s)..." to re-open it. You would need to know the filename of that investment. Each investment is saved as a *.dat file.

If the hiding feature still isn't working as you expect, you might want to just give me a call on the phone. We can go through it together.

Thanks,
Mark
