Hi Alec,

Interesting question, but I don't know the answer. You might try searching google with something like "drive letter assignment". I did this briefly, and there seems to be a lot of information out there on how drive letters are assigned, and how you can change them too. Understanding this might help you figure out why Windows keeps changing your drive letter on you...
