: : Hello,

: : I'm on the third day of of the 30-day evaluation period for FM v8.6 on Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]. I've opened and closed FM several times today, but just a few minutes ago it started telling me that the evaluation period has ended:

: : The evaluation period of Fund Manager has expired.
: : If you plan to continue using the program, please purchase a license.
: : ---
: : OK
: : ---

: : when I click "OK" I am presented the the next box:

: :
: : Would you like to view 'Purchase Information' in the online help?
: : --------
: : Yes No
: : --------

: : when I click "Yes" I get into the Purchase Info Help and then have access to the rest of the program.

: : The date/time on my computer is correct. Is there any way to fix this so I can continue my evaluation? Thanks for any suggestions.

: : Vic

: Hi Vic,

: The evaluation period is not based on dates. It is based on how many times you start the program. As stated on the "Download" page, the evaluation is for 60 starts of the program. After about 45 starts you will start getting this expired notice when you first start, but you can still get into the program. After 60 starts you will need a license key to continue.

: If you click on "No" to the second dialog asking you if you want to view purchase information, the program will either start, or bring up the dialog to enter your license key. Hopefully you haven't passed the 60 starts, so you can still get in. You might want to minimize the number of times you exit and re-start. If your evaluation expires, and you still need longer to evaluate it, please send us an email. We can send you a license to extend the trial period.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Oh, sorry. My mistake. I must have confused it with the other program that I'm evaluating. I'm in the habbit of closing a program even if I know I'll be opening it again in a little while. I do that from habit so as to protect myself from data loss due to a system crash. It's probably not needed since WinXP is so stable, so it's just force of habit.

Would you be so kind as to send me a temporary extension? I would like a few more days to evaluate. Thanks.

Vic
