: I imported the history for my 401k going back 5 years from msMoney. Now I want to keep it updated by downloading the new transactions directly from Fidelity NetBenefits.

: When I do so, FM wants to add new investments even if I already have these investments in the portfolio. I tried to use the same exact name, but that doesn't trigger a match.

: How should I resolve this? How can I tell FM that these transactions are not for new investments, but for existing ones.

: Thanks,

Hi Luca,

When retrieving transactions, FM first tries to match on the CUSIP. If no match is found, it then tries to match on the symbol. Lastly, it tries to match on the name, but only if the symbol is empty. The intended method is to match on CUSIP. You can edit this under "Investment Properties...". If you don't know the CUSIP, you can retrieve into a new blank sub-portfolio, and allow FM to create the investments for you. It will create them with the correct CUSIP. Once you have all the CUSIPs, you can just delete that sub-portfolio.

Thanks,
Mark
