: The most likely reason for this is that your data files are marked as "Read-Only". This often happens if you use a CD to copy your data files from your old to new computer. Look at the properties of your investment (*.dat) and portfolio (*.mm4) files using Windows Explorer. If they are marked as Read-Only, remove this property.

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately it's not that. None of them is read-only.
It must be something else.

I cannot even exit the program normally, since this series of messages come up.
