: Fund Manager seems to be running on on my new Vista laptop. But when the auto update tried to download the new dll files, the checksum failed. Is this something with Vista security, or a general problem?

: By the way, manually downloading the new files and copying them over to the Fund Manager folder worked OK.

Hi Charles,

This problem is related to security in Vista. Even if you are an administrator on your Vista machine you still need to specifically run FM as an administrator to do the update. By default, programs in Vista are run as regular users. To run FM as an admin, right mouse click on the shortcut, and choose "Run As Administrator". This will allow the auto update to work. The problem is that if you aren't running it as an admin, FM does not have permissions to replace the DLL in the Fund Manager folder.

Thanks,
Mark
