: Mark
: I just purchased FM, after trying it for the trial period. Very good program, I"m a happy new customer. And thanks for letting poeple try a fully featured trial version, this was crucial in my purchasing decision.
: I have a question though.
: I import transactions from files in MS Money format (Interactive Brokers is my broker), and everything works perfectly.
: However, there is something I dont understand.
: Let's say for example that I purchased 1000$ of stock ABC, and my fee is 2$. Everything is recorded perfectly in the stock ABC investment window, including the fee.
: However, the cash account shows a redemption of 1000$, not 1002$, as it should (purchase plus fees). In other words, the fees are not recorded in the cash account.
: As a result, the value of my portfolio shown in FM doesnt take into considerations the fees that I pay.
: The same happens for all my transactions.
: What do you think is my problem here?
: Thanks a lot - John

Hi John,

Thanks for the feedback, glad you're enjoying FM.

How is this corresponding debit from the cash account being recorded? Is it being done automatically by Fund Manager by virtue of a default cash account assignment, or is the cash transaction coming down as an explicit transaction in your download from IB? I'm guessing the later, because FM will include commissions paid when automatically debiting the default cash account for purchases made.

You can look to see if you have a default cash account assigned under the portfolio properties. When you import from your OFX file, if you see the cash transaction listed in the Preview Importing Transactions window, then this transaction was in your OFX file.

Thanks,
Mark
