Gain/Loss on Short Positions

I have made a custom report to show me information on my open positions, including the gain/loss using the "Gain-C(end)" field. This works fine for my long positions, but my shorts report the entire short sale value as a loss in this column, rather than the gain or loss on the position. The "Gain(btw)" and "Gain(end)" fields report the correct number, but include gain/loss on shares no longer held at the end of the reporting period (which I do not want to include). Any ideas on how I can get the gain/loss on all my positions that are still held at the end of the reporting period. Thanks for your help.
