: : Does anyone use FM to track portfolios that include puts or calls? I do, and I'm having trouble doing automatic online updates of those quotes.

: : I've tried yahoo, yahoo historical, pcquote, etc. I know that each one of those requires me to define the symbols its own way, and I think I've accommodated that, but nothing seems to work.

: : I have a portfolio of "open calls". When I run an update, a couple of them get the day's closing price downloaded, but most of them don't get updated at all.

: : Any suggestions, anyone?

: : Not a deal breaker; just a curiosity question, really...

: : Thx

: : MC and HNY everyone

: Hi Tom,
: The basic rule is that if you can view the quote with your browser on
: any of the supported servers, then FM should be able to retrieve the quote too.
: Can you give an example symbol that you're using and the server you're using
: it with, that won't update?

: Thanks,
: Mark

Mark,

Here's the list of quotes.

DQILC.X AQUBD.X CDBV.X GUOBW.X TUOLB.X IDXLU.X UPNLB.X EULLW.X

These are the symbols I've defined for each of them in FM. These are in the format that shows up on yahoo when I input the stock ticker symbol. When I used yahoo a moment ago, I think I got one update for DQILC.X but none for any of the rest. When I switched settings to yahoo historical and asked for quotes from 12/1/01 through tonight, nothing got updated. I've tried other quote services, too, such as pcquote, but not recently. So I can't provide up to date info on how or if that one works. I know that to use it I'd have to switch the format of the symbols, and I know when I was trying pcquote I had the symbols in the right format.

Like I said, none of this is a deal breaker, but I'm curious if I'm doing something wrong.

Thx for trying to help.

Tom
