: My trading software dumps the following data/columns, I've been going nuts tring to figure out the import stream, suggestions? Does importing require a "BUY", "SELL" column or can I just insert ANUM? Please advise. Thanks.

:

: SYMB DATE BUY SHARES SELL
: QQQ 11/20/01 39.8 1000 40.00

Hi Ray,
Why is there both a BUY and SELL price filled in on the same line?
For the generic transaction import the format string must contain all of
ANUM, BNUM, CNUM, and TRAN. So, if you had your data like this:

BUY QQQ 11/20/01 39.8 1000 0

you would use a format string like:

TRAN SYMB MM/DD/YY ANUM BNUM CNUM

The following table is copied from the online help and shows all the different
values that can be in your file where you say the TRAN field is, and what
the corresponding ANUM, BNUM, and CNUM would mean for each possible TRAN value.

TRAN ANUM BNUM CNUM
BUY price shares commission
SELL price shares commission

DIST_S value (not used) (not used)
DIST_M value (not used) (not used)
DIST_L value (not used) (not used)

REINV_S price shares commission
REINV_M price shares commission
REINV_L price shares commission
REINV_I price shares commission
REINV_F price shares commission
