Investment Perf- historical start date vs Purch date

I am unable to get an accurate Inv Perf set of graphs or
charts since most my data starts before the first buy date.
So my inv performance is calculated
on the basis of a non existing 'buy' date, the date of
my first historic quote entries.
Is there a way to solve this relative easily? L. PS I have found the elusive NOTE scenario, yes its buried on
the lower left corner of the graphs, with nothing to
attract my attition to it, and is easily missed.
But its there!!!!!!
