If I "close" an investment from a portfolio, does that mean I an deleting that investment from the portfolio as far as calculating total portfolio returns are concerned. It appears that it does.
If I have a stock within a portfolio which I have bought and sold resulting in a zero position, do I have to keep this as an "open" position within the respective portfolio to ensure a correct portfolio total return.
Is there a way in which "flat" stock positions can be within the portfolio calculations but not appear in value or performance reports ?
