Mark,
I have the same problem where I continue to set the default cash account in the portfolio, save everything and a week or so down the road I will record and sale or purchase and sure enough the cash doesn't debit or credit correctly. I then check the "Options/Preferences.../Other" and it says default cash account none. This has happened to me repeatedly so I am sure the setting is not holding for some reason. I've now made it a habit to check this setting prior to recording a sale or purchase but of course, sometimes I forget. I wanted to make note of this issue because it appears others (below) are having the same thing happen.
Thor : : I continue to have intermittant problems when I trade.: : Occasionally, the designated sweep MMF is not correctly
: : adjusted to reflect and purchase or sale. Usually it
: : happens on a sale, the MMF does not get debited and it
: : and the portfolio are then overstated.
: : What am I doing wrong? : : MN : Hi Marlowe, : I'm not sure of what the problem is. Are you opening your: portfolio before recording transactions? The assignement
: of the default cash account is memorized in your portfolio.
: One possibility is that you're just opening the investments,
: recording the sale, and the default cash account was not
: currently set when recording the sale.
: If you see the problem occur right after recording any: transaction please go to "Options/Preferences.../Other"
: and check to see if your default cash assignment is still set.
 : Thanks,: Mark
