Remove price ranges

How does one remove a range of price data. For example I have data on some stocks going back 3 years, but I have only held the stock for 3 mo. How do I get rid of all that extra price info. The price info got there because I did several historical price updates and the program updates all investments in a portfolio. I have not figured out how to update just one investment with historical data.
