asset allocation report

I have a portfolio of several mutual funds, but the asset allocation reports them all belonging to one asset type. I have attempted to assign each one (large cap stock, small cap value, etc.), but it seems to ask me what the percentage is. If I input a number, it says total must be 100? Shouldn't the program calculate each funds percentage of the total portfolio? Another way to ask this - how do I get the asset allocation report to correctly show the beginning and ending %? Do I need to first reset something?
