: Mark,

: Am I missing something?? If I change the quote server I believe I have to change the symbols UNLESS the new server uses the same format as the previous one. Yahoo, Quicken, Canada Stockwatch, etc all use different ticker formats. In addition, my (onboard) Quicken software needs to be changed to embody the same ticker format as the prices.csv file to enable direct importing. If there is an easier way I'd sure like to hear about it. :-)

Derek,
For most stocks and mutual funds the symbols are constant, and the same
for all quote servers. For example, Intel in INTC and Janus Fund is JANSX
on both Yahoo and PC Quote, and all other servers that offer these quotes.
In rare cases, like for indices the symbols can be different for different
quote servers, but for the rest you should be able to change servers without
modifying the symbol you have recorded.

Thanks,
Mark
