Part payments for shares

There is often the situation where new stock is issued and there are 2 payments required for the actual share. ie

dec 1998 - paid for 1500 installment receipts for company
dec 1999 - final payment made and received proper shares for company

How would you record this with Fund Manager if you wanted to record the 2 different times when payments were made, but you only receive the shares with the final payment
