: why doesn't total portfolio yield appear all the time. sometimes it gets calculated and other times not. does it have something to do with the beginning and ending dates and is effected by the opened and closed position dates?

It should get displayed always, except if the yield is >100,000%, which is an
internal maximum where FM starts searching for the yield. Your query prompted
me to check this out, and it turns out that for all the yields above the
graphs (except the GPH yield) that if your beginning yield term date was
before the inception of your portfolio a yield would not get calculated.
There is no reason for this restriction, so it has been removed. This will
be included in the next beta 5.0 version.

The definition of portfolio inception is the earliest recorded price point
in any open investment.

Thanks,
Mark
