: : : : : : : Can you pls indicate if you foresee support for any of the italian stock quote
: : : : : : : servers. There are several, some (or possibly all) of which require
: : : : : : : registration. Here is a short list:

: : : : : : : http://www.voltrade.it/it/index.asp
: : : : : : : http://www.borse.it/
: : : : : : : http://www.ilsole24ore.com/
: : : : : : : http://www.fineco.it/

: : : : : : : Thank you for your help.

: : : : : : Hi Sal,
: : : : : : In FM 5.0 we've added support for a new server: "Yahoo - Italy".
: : : : : : The URL for this server is:

: : : : : : http://it.finance.yahoo.com/

: : : : : : For a list of all our new servers and links to them, see:

: : : : : : http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/intrtv.html

: : : : : : The new servers are only available in a 5.x version.
: : : : : : If you're interested in trying out 5.0 while it is in beta visit:

: : : : : Hi Mark,
: : : : : I followed your suggestion and downloaded F.M. 5.0, which appears to work fine.
: : : : : However when I try to update my portfolio using the Yahoo italian site, some of
: : : : : the stocks are duly updated, while others refuse to do so. Yet, if I search for
: : : : : them in the Yahoo site, using of course the same symbols I use for FM, the
: : : : : quotes are indeed there.
: : : : : Do you have an explanation?
: : : : : Thanks.

: : : : : Sal Iannazzo

: : : : Hi Sal,
: : : : Are the ones that aren't updating mutual funds? Please make sure you
: : : : have version 301 of the retrieve module. Use 'Help/FM on the Web/Check for
: : : : Updates...'. If the problem is still there with this new version of the
: : : : retrieve module please let me know an example ticker symbol that isn't
: : : : working in FM that is available on the site.

: : : : Thanks,
: : : : Mark

: : : :
: : : Hi Mark,
: : : thank you for your prompt answer.
: : : 1. No, they are not mutual funds; they are stocks.
: : : 2. Yes, I do have the 301 retrieve module
: : : 3. Some of the stocks that are not updating: L'Espresso (symbol ES.MI);
: : : Fiat Risparmio (FR.MI); Generali (G.MI); Pirelli (P.MI).
: : : And some that are updating: Alleanza (AL.MI); Bipop Carire (BIP.MI);
: : : Enel (ENEL.MI); Eni (ENI.MI).

: : : Thank you.

: : : Sal Iannazzo

: : Hi Sal,
: : The non-updating symbols do not appear to be valid symbols on Yahoo-IT.
: : For example, go to:

: : http://it.finance.yahoo.com/q?m=*&s=FR.MI+ES.MI+G.MI+P.MI&d=t

: : All of these symbols show up as not available, using a browser. I looked up
: : the symbol for L'Espresso on their site:

: : http://it.finance.yahoo.com/l?t=s&s=L%27Espresso&m=*

: : and I believe the correct symbol is ESPI.MI
: : Using this symbol the price updated correctly in FM, and it appears correctly
: : in the browser too.

: : I would suggest re-checking the symbols you are using, and make sure they
: : are available on Yahoo-IT using your browser.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Hi Mark,
: after your message I re-checked the Yahoo Italy site and discovered that
: indeed many stocks have multiple symbols, odd as it may seem. And L'Espresso
: has both ES.MI and ESPI.MI as you indicated. The same for Fiat Risparmio
: (FR.MI and FIAr.MI), for Generali (G.MI and GASI.MI), for Pirelli
: (P.MI and PIRI.MI). I then tried to plug the alternate symbols into FM 5.0,
: but the situation did not change: they stubbornly refused to update. Only
: Generali did update, but I can't say if I was using G.MI or GASI.MI when this
: happened.
: One thing I just noticed, and that I think is important for you to understand
: what is going on, is that when I hit the INT button to command the update,
: in the small window that pops up the symbols that do not update appear to be
: missing, although it is difficult to be sure, since this window disappears
: very quickly.
: I hope this gives you some hints. Thank you for your help anyway.

Hi Mark,
CORRECTION
I just noticed that during the tests I had run when attempting to get things
right, I had inserted a space between the symbol and the suffix MI. When I
remove this space, and using the new symbols, all stocks update correctly.

We got there in the end. Thank you very much for your help.

Sal
