Can't update prices from another FM .dat file

I've previously had no problem using File | Import | Prices | Fund Manager, but can't seem to get it to work now. I'm using FM version 4.7.237 and have double-checked that the origin and importing investments have exactly the same "Symbol" value (happens to be a text string I made up because the investment is not a listed security). Any suggestions?
