I found the root of my my problem. FM was attempting to backup my portfolio to the same directory where my data files were stored. I had the back up problem with the copy of FM on my laptop at work but not on my home PC. My other portfolios were backing up to the hard drive in the laptop and the new one was backing up to my floppy disk. I must have changed the backup preference or did something else stupid. All is fine now. Thanks for your help Mark. Keep up the great work on this product. There is no finer portfolio management tool that I can find at any price. Great functionality and features. George
