: : I would like to be able to compare my return in the Portfolio Performance Report to that of a few popular indices.

: : I have seen the investment overlay feature but it does not show the "% gain" or "yield". I realize the "% gain" or "yield" can be figured out from the overlay, but this would have to be done on a daily or weekly basis and would become very tedious.

: : This seems like a necessary addition to Fund Manager since most people should be comparing their return to at least one type of index. If you try to add an index into the portfolio, so you can get a yield, it screws up the portfolio's true value. If you add an index to a portfolio with NO SHARES it will NOT provide a "% gain" or "yield".

: : Please consider this for future versions.

: : Thanks,

: Thanks for the feedback. The "Portfolio Performance" report is intended
: to give you performance figures on your invested money. To get figures for
: an index you would need to have money invested in that index. One option
: would be to record a very small (like maybe $0.01) beginning share balance.

: This could be something we could make automatic for index type investments
: with a 0 share balance in the future.

: Thanks,
: Mark

I miss back when I had my money invested with an full service brokerage...I would get reports showing my performance vs. that of representative index. That is about the only thing I miss about the FULL service brokerage, but I do miss having that added on to my statements.

This made me wonder if it would be possible to add a seperate line in the future versions that included an "Portfolio vs. Index Comparison Section" (that could be an option...a check box to have it included or something) on the Portfolio Performance Report.

Thanks for is GREAT software.

***Anyone that is still pondering whether to purchase this software: I spent two weeks researching the other available programs. They do not even come close...nothing is as powerful and simple to use. If you want to track your investments, Fund Manager is the program for you.***
