: : Recently Ford exchanged its shares of stock worth $49.50 for new stock worth $29.50. To make up the difference, they paid out $20/share in cash for each share I owned, 283 shares = $5,660. How do I enter this in FM?

If this cash is not taxable as dividend income, but is suppose to lower
your cost basis for capital gains, then record it as a "Return of Capital"
distribution. If it is taxed as dividend income, and doesn't affect
your cost basis, record it as a "Dividend" distribution.

Thanks,
Mark
