: : Mark,
: : I have just noticed that the ticker symbols for these indexes on Yahoo UK have changed. I have all stock price download preferences set to two decimal points. Problem now is that these indexes are downloading as e.g. 60.00 instead of 6000.00. I know you helped me before with this one a long time ago but I've forgotten what you told me. Please help again.

: : Phil

: Hi Phil,
: The instructions are at:

: Here they are copied for your reference:

: All investments recorded in FM with the symbol suffix of .L will always be updated in pounds. All other investments will be updated by the price, as reported back from the Yahoo - UK server.

: If you desire a different behavior, the behavior of this retrieve can be changed from the default by adding a value to the following registry key:

[SNIP]

Mark

Can I suggest an alternative solution that I use and that Phil might like to try.

Rather than change the registry (which will affect all of his investments) and then juggle the suffices to achieve his desired result all Phil needs to do is set up a dummy currency and apply it to the two FTSE indices.

Assuming that the default currency has been used for his normal investments he needs to create a new currency called, for example, "X" where X = 0.01 x default. If he then sets the FTSE indices to currency "X" and turns on "Exchange rate adjustment" on the View menu, the indices will be shown as 6000.00 and the normal stocks as 60.00.

The same principal will work even if the normal stocks are not using the default currency - the currency used for the indices just has to be 0.01 x the currency used for the other stocks.

Regards

Michael
