: : : I am a new user of FM and am using Windows 98, Money 99, Netscape 4.61, : : : and a 56K modem. I have been able to transfer my Money 99 stock portfolio : : : to FM following the instructions provided by the FM help menu, however : : : only the names of the stocks transferred, all the purchase information : : : had to be input manualy and none of the historical market pricing or volume : : : data transferred. Please advise how to create a 5yr history of daily : : : market pricing and volume data charts from the Internet in FM. Money 99 : : : does this with a push of a button for any stock so I am sure I have just : : : miss read FM's instructions. : : Hi Henry, : : To retrieve historical prices, change the quote server under "Options/ : : Internet Settings..." to "Yahoo (Historical)", and then click the : : internet retrieve button on the toolbar. You will be prompted for a : : date range to request prices. You can only obtain 200 quotes per request, : : so you will want to break it up into several 6 month or so chunks. : : Thanks, : : Mark : : -- : : Mark Beiley : : : : Fund Manager for Windows 3.1x/95/98/NT : : : : : : I followed these instructions but after the import, the stocks with splits look all screwed up. It's like the splits were not handled. How can I rectify this? Hi Douglas, Did you make sure to use the "Yahoo (Historical)" server, and not the "Yahoo (Adjusted Historical)" server? The adjusted one has adjusted the prices for splits and distributions, so if you have also recorded these as transactions, they will be double counted, and show incorrectly. Thanks, Mark -- Mark Beiley
