Trash whilst loading up

When loading FM4 The opening screen displays the regular FM4 screen headed "FundMgr4 [no portfolio name]
Window "Calculating Report Data" and ranges fron 0% through to 100%
Then
Dot Grid of the report screen
then
clears to black FM4 screen
then
Window "Calculating Report Data" and ranges fron 0% through to 100%
then clears screen
Window "Calculating Report Data" and ranges fron 0% through to 100%
then
"FundMgr4 [the last portfolio when FM4 was open ]
FM4 seem to function correctly with one exception, that is I am unable to add new investments. When I do all appears to function correctly until I "save new investment" it either continually returns to company name on the new investment screen or if I get through to the save new investment, when I "save" I get the reply the "program has caused error and to close program"
