Straight lines in graphs after internet download

I have several investment files that contain straight line segments (with varying slope)
from time point a to time point b. After time point b, the investment graph looks normal
with varying prices for each day. The straight line segments include those time periods that
I have downloaded historical data for. What gives?? I may have a proceedural problem as I
have only been useing Fund Manager for about 3 days now.
