: : : When backing up to floppy disks on FM 4.1, I find I have too much data to fit on 1 disk. Once FM has filled up the 1st disk, it simply returns individual error messages for each individual file it can't copy. I would like FM to continue the backup for the 2nd (and subsequent) disks. Do you have a simple work-around for this problem?

: : Hi Jerome,
: : This is a shortcoming in FM's backup command. It isn't smart enough
: : to span multiple disks. A definite area for improvement...
: : A simple workaround is to copy the *.dat investment files onto floppy
: : disks using Windows Explorer or something similar.

: : Thanks,

: Hi Mark;
: Would copying the whole data file to a floppy a work around
: to this problem?
: You would have to delete the old data when you copied the
: back up ito it's place.

Yes, you can just copy the investment file to a floppy. This is basically
what the backup command is doing.

Thanks,
Mark
