: : : : : : Mark,
: : : : : : Another apparent bug in 4.0:
: : : : : : If portfolio is open and doing work, on occation, when go to file menue to open another portfolio ("open portfolio") 4.0 will not go to portfolio selection window. It just seems to do nothing. You can open other portfolio from bottom of file list showing last four portfolios, but if you need a portfolio not on last four list you must totally exit program and start over. This is a problem that can obviousely be worked around, but I think it's important for a future fix.

: : : : : Hi Bill,
: : : : : We haven't seen this before, and it seems
: : : : : to work okay when I tried it now. Can you
: : : : : reproduce this after rebooting your system?
: : : : : Does it do this with any open portfolio, or
: : : : : does it only happen when certain portfolios are
: : : : : open?

: : : : : Thanks,
: : : : : Mark

Mark,

Bug continues? Sometimes occurrs without the long time use that I originally thought had someting to do with it. Have since determined that when this occurrs you also can not accomplish backup on menu. It just does not respond to menue. You must totally exit FM program and when fresh open then all is OK.

: : : : Mark,

: : : : I don't know the answere to your questions at this time. I would need the time to evaluate and I'm a bit busy. If I recall, it may (???) occur if 4.0 is open for awhile and I return to it from another program and then try to open a portfolio. I don't see how time could effect this but if so you may want to check. Next time it happens I will try to recall which portfolio is open. I'm not sure what you mean by duplicating after rebooting. As I've said, if you exit FM and then fresh open FM it works fine. It's just periodic and an anoyance.

: : : Hi Bill,
: : : The symptoms you describe sound like a
: : : problem with some resources/memory being corrupted
: : : as you use your computer. Have you ever seen
: : : this problem with any other application? The
: : : "Open" dialog used by FM is a common dialog, that
: : : can be called up by any program.

: : : Thanks,
: : : Mark

: : Mark,

: : No, it has never happened with any other program. It occurrs with both my laptop and my desk pc. Both have plently of memory (4.5 gig HD, 32 meg).
: : Everything but the ability to open a portfolio works, and this never happened with FM prior versions? Don't know what else to say about it. If I'm the only compainant then perhaps it is just a problem with both my PC's???
