FM4.0 echoing while loading

Recently the screen for FM 4.0 has been flashing while loading apparently echoing all the initialization. The program works fine once loaded but the wild flashing while loading is disconcerting. I deleted the program and reinstalled with a freshly downloaded version but no help. Any suggestions?
