Hi Bill,
This sounds like a known bug in FM 4.0. If
you last exited FM when it was minimized, and
the next time it starts you have a password
protected investment automatically open, then
the dialog box is displayed off the screen, so
you don't see it. It appears as if FM is stuck
in the task bar. This bug will of course be
fixed in the next release. You can work around
it for now by just hitting Esc after starting
FM, this will dismiss the dialog that is hidden.
If that doesn't work for you, you can also
edit the following registry key to prevent FM
from coming up minimized for the next session:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion\Window

Set the "state" variable to "1".
