: : How do you create 2 portfolios with the same Mutual Funds, if each portoflio has a different amount of shares.
: : I created one portfolio and when I created the other portfolio and tried to add the fund I had in the first portfolio it told me it already existed and asked me if I wanted to overwrite it.

: Hello,
: With your permission let me share my experience on this issue with you. I had the same question since FM 3.x. The solution is to create a second investment with a different name (but same symbol) and include that second investment in your second portfolio with the different number of shares, for instance, MICROSOFT 1 and MICROSOFT 2 (symbol MSFT). Each one can has different number of shares.

Thanks, but it didn't work.

1st. I create a portfolio called Mary and I add a fund called Putitan with the symbol fpurx to it.

2nd. I create another portfolio called Gene and I add a fund called Puritan-1 with the symbol fpurx to it. When I try to add the puritan-1 with the symbol fpurx it tells me the fund already exist and it asks me If I want to overwrite it.
I really don't believe you can have 2 different Portfolios with the same symbols and different amounts of shares.
